E-stamps Bring In Kd 17 Million - Finance Minister
Sales of the e-stamps have brought in some KD 17 million (about USD 56.21 million) for the Ministry of Finance since the service was introduced last year, according to a ministry statement on Saturday. Up to five million e-stamps have been sold since the ministry was tasked with implementing the cabinet resolution 13/2015, committing government bodies to applying the e-stamps system in all their activities, it added.
Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry has recently launched the e-visa service as part of the efforts to provide the infrastructure for e-payment, to streamline obtaining government dues electronically.
The service is completed and fees are payed through e-stamps, in cooperation with the Shared Electronic Banking Co. (KNET), the statement noted.
As of the FY 2017-2018, fees on all government services are to be paid through e-stamps, According to the relevant resolution. The service is now applied in 34 government bodies.Â
