Document Forgery And Seal Misuse: 3 Years In Prison
The Criminal Court has sentenced an individual to three years' imprisonment with hard labor for the forgery of official documents and illegal use of state seals, resulting in harm to a female citizen holding a departmental position within the Ministry of Health.
Additionally, the civil case has been referred to the appropriate civil court. The accused was charged by the Public Prosecution for forging two official documents, altering them to falsely represent the results of special mental capacity tests on two individuals.
The accused unlawfully obtained government department seals and the seal of a public employee, which were used to perpetrate the forgery. The defense, represented by lawyer Khalil Haider, has requested temporary compensation of KD 5001 for damages suffered by the complainant. Haider emphasized the significance of this ruling in addressing crimes that undermine public order and individual and state interests, emphasizing the importance of upholding integrity and transparency in official documents and procedures.
