Dgca Awaits Nod From Cabinet To Increase Passenger Capacity

19 October 2021 Travel

The Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is awaiting the green light from the Council of Ministers to increase the operational capacity to 30,000 passengers per day and the return of 52 airlines — two local companies and regional and international companies — operating at the Kuwait International Airport.

The Al-Anba quoting the DGCA sources said it is ready “for the full opening process”, after learning the Council of Ministers at its meeting has agreed to increase the capacity to about 30,000 passengers per day.

The sources said the number of passengers at the Kuwait International Airport varies depending on the travel season. The number of passengers decreases during winter to between 20 and 25 thousand passengers per day.

However, the sources indicated no date has yet been issued for the airport to be fully opened.
