Yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Acting Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, along with Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Financial Affairs, Sheikh Hamoud Al-Mubarak, paid a visit to the Department of Deportation and Temporary Detention Affairs.
The purpose of their visit was to supervise the progress of work, identify challenges, and put in place solutions, reports Al-Anba daily.
During the visit, Al-Yousef evaluated the capacity of the deportation prison and conducted a thorough inspection of various prisoner wards, including those designated for both men and women. He attentively listened to the inmates’ most pressing complaints and observations.
Al-Yousef directed the removal of obstacles encountered by inmates in accordance with the law. He also advocated for the establishment of a streamlined mechanism to facilitate procedures for deportees, especially those lacking passports, in coordination with their respective embassies to expedite their repatriation.
Furthermore, he stressed the importance of addressing all deficiencies and developing a forward-thinking strategy for the enhancement of the deportation administration and temporary detention affairs, with the aim of resolving issues and challenges inherent to this vital administration.
