Delay In Restructuring Of Kpc Board Of Director Cause Of Disruption

MEED magazine said the ‘restructuring’ of the board of directors at the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation is scheduled to happen soon, before the end of this year given the resignation of the government on Nov 8, 2021.

Reliable sources told Al-Rai the ‘delay’ in restructuring this institution is causing a major disruption in the country’s energy sector.

“Many activities,” the sources say, “remain suspended until the completion of restructuring completed before the end of the year, but it may take longer if the formation of the new government encounters problems.”

MEED noted that Kuwait made great efforts to maintain the continuity of the oil and gas sector in 2020 and 2021, amid logistical problems related to the pandemic and severe local political divisions.
