Kuwaiti Health Ministry has appointed 208 Pakistani nationals who arrived in the country last October to help fight COVID-19, a local newspaper has reported.

The appointees include 15 doctors, 152 nurses and 41 technicians, marking the first group of Pakistani medical teams who arrived in Kuwait, Al Jarida newspaper said, citing what it described as well-informed sources.

The ministry is also working on finalising procedures related to the appointment of a second group of 196 Pakistani medics, who arrived in Kuwait late last month, the sources added.

The appointees will support services offered at the health care facilities run by the ministry.

Kuwait so far has registered a tally of 160,901 coronavirus cases and 952 related deaths.
