‘contracts For Domestic Workers From India Open’
Domestic labor recruitment offices have started receiving requests for new contracts for domestic workers; while new contracts are limited to Indian workers from Kerala State in India, reports Al-Qabas daily. Confirming a report that the daily published on Jan 18 about the cost of hiring Indian workers, some recruitment agencies announced the availability of new contracts from India at a cost of KD 990 for the recruitment office and KD 390 for the government platform – ‘Belsalamah’. Speaking to the daily, the owners of recruitment offices revealed that contracts for workers from the Philippines are suspended until further notice, as no agreement has been reached with the exporting agencies yet.
Regarding the cost, they pointed out that the amount KD 990 was specified by the Ministry of Commerce and agencies must abide by it; but the platform is a compulsory procedure for the sponsors and the offices can do it in exchange for obtaining the fees in advance and helping the sponsors apply through the platform. The services on the platform include compulsory quarantine (institutional), meals for 14 days, guardianship of worker, three PCR tests during the quarantine period and a ticket.
