Community Immunity To Be Reached By Early September
Kuwait will nearly achieve community immunity by next September after 3 million people in the country will have received the vaccination, and the path towards the goal is slowly being reached with the vaccination campaign approaching 2 million vaccinated in the next few weeks, informed sources revealed to Al Rai daily.
Reaching 3 million will ensure the country achieves community immunity, which paves the way for life to return to normal as 65 to 70 percent of the population will be inoculated against the virus, before the start of the school year in September as well.
The source highlighted the importance of vaccinating workers in central shopping malls in preparation for a gradual return to normal life, and mentioned the completion of the second phase of the field unit campaign that saw the vaccination of more than 30,000 people in 13 commercial complexes.
The total of those vaccinated so far through mobile campaigns exceeds 60,000 employees in several institutions such as Co-ops, Mosques, the banking sector, food manufacturers and cinemas.
Highlighting the breakthrough in the country, which shows a fracture in the current coronavirus wave curve, the sources pointed to the indicators that assess the epidemiological situation recording numbers, which are optimistic signs, especially after the decline in cases this week to below a thousand, for the first time since the end of last February.
The sources expressed hope to quickly complete the vaccination of employees in restaurants and food supply companies registered on the Covid-19 vaccination site during the Eid holiday period, in preparation for the safe and complete opening of these businesses after the Eid Al-Fitr holidays.
Restaurant owners are urged to quickly register their workers’ details at the pre-registration site and choose from the restaurants and catering profession so that all employees working in these businesses can be vaccinated.
