Bello To Fly To Kuwait To Clarify Embassy Rescue Mission

Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre Bello III is set to fly to Kuwait after Labor Day, May 1, to clarify issues concerning the Philippine Embassy’s rescue of Filipino house workers that sparked a diplomatic rift between the Philippines and Kuwait.

Despite the ongoing tension, Bello is confident that the matter will be resolved soon and eventually, the signing of the bilateral agreement will push through.

“this incident is very isolated so with some diplomatic moves from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Department of Labor, we can fix this ” Bello concluded.
