Anti-corruption Authority Encourages Co Oprtn With Civil Society

The Anti-Corruption Public Authority on Saturday reiterated keenness on bolstering cooperation with the civil society organizations for boosting the principles of integrity.

The authority's Assistant Secretary General for prevention of corruption and strategic planning, Abdulaziz Al-Mansour, made the statement at a news conference, announcing a symposium, to be organize on Sunday under the logo, "Kuwait on the international indices, reality and hopes."

The authority is eager to take necessary measures that secure participation of the civil society organizations in efforts to expose hazards of corruption and impact on the society as well as expanding activities to fight it, Al-Mansour said.

The two-day event, organized in cooperation with the Kuwait Transparency Society and the Kuwaiti Society for the Defense of Public Funds, is a national dialogue in which representatives of the welfare societies will set breadlines for the national strategy to fight corruption.

Through this strategy, the authority is seeking to attain a host of goals, topped with activating the UN Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), and enhancing efforts for studying the legislation and other legal tools to counter it.
