Anderson Cancer Center In The Us Refuse To Receive Kuwaiti Patients
The Anderson Cancer Center in the United States has refused to receive Kuwaiti patients during the current period, pending the payment of the accumulated dues by the Ministry of Health, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The head of the Kuwait health office in Washington Dr Ali Al-Enezi in a letter to the Director of the Overseas Medical Treatment has made a request not to send any cancer cases to the Anderson Center.
He added, the office will transfer the patients who have appointments at the Anderson Center to other hospitals and provide the Overseas Medical Treatment Department with new dates of appointments for patients soon. Sources said that the Ministry of Health had recently asked the Cabinet to approve 200 million dinars in addition to its annual budget to cover the monthly payments of health offices overseas and its obligations to international hospitals, pointing to the tendency of some specialized centers and hospitals abroad to sue the subsidiary offices of the ministry abroad, as a result of nonpayment of dues in spite of repeated reminders to pay the bills.
According to knowledgeable sources the Anderson Center is one of the most prestigious in the United States and in the past eight years six times has been ranked first in the care of cancer patients according to the ranking of the best American hospitals and agreements they have with some Arab countries.
