An Indian Company Initially Exports Corona Medication To 3 Gulf Countries To Treat Covid 19 Patients
The Indian pharmaceutical company, Stradys, is heading for its biggest jump in its shares since 2004, after it began exporting anti-viral “faviravir” tablets, which are increasingly used to treat emerging corona virus cases,
according to Bloomberg. The company, which is based in Bangalore, India, said it had developed the drug, as the drug showed positive and effective results in improving lung conditions in coronavirus patients. The company’s shares rose by as much as 18% the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The Indian company will produce the drug at its plant in southern Bangalore state, and can produce up to six billion tablets annually. The company said, without giving details, that the drug will be initially exported to three Gulf countries to treat “Covid 19” patients. Strides said it plans to submit an application to the Indian drug authorities, to initiate the necessary studies and to make the drug available locally.
