Among GCC States Decision To Reopen Visas Goes Hand In Hand With Trend
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef has confirmed the decision to reopen tourist, family, and commercial visits. This action mirrors the growing trend among most Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to resume such visits following previous closures.
In a statement to Al-Qabas, Al-Yousef emphasized the establishment of comprehensive laws and regulations to govern these visits. He stressed that compliance with these regulations is essential for visitors, warning of legal repercussions and punishment for violators in accordance with the law.
Al-Yousef highlighted the Ministry of Interior's implementation of various measures and strategies to ensure the proper management of visits under specific conditions. Vigilance will be maintained to enforce regulations and deter violators, with the General Administration of Residency Affairs Investigations identifying and taking appropriate legal actions against violators under the Foreigners’ Residence Law.
The decision to reopen visits aims to prevent their misuse and retain qualified individuals who may have left the country due to family reasons. Al-Yousef emphasized the importance of ensuring visits serve their intended purpose.
Furthermore, he underscored the potential economic benefits of opening up to visitors, citing the expansion of airport facilities. Al-Yousef asserted the need to increase visitor numbers within established frameworks and laws, with consequences for those who fail to adhere to regulations.
