Amnesty Call Received Lukewarm Response On Day One

According to reports, the response to the amnesty announcement by the Ministry of Interior is comparatively less as only 440 people visited the Residence Affairs Department on Day 1.

The three month amnesty announced by Kuwait came into effect from Sunday, 17th where residency violators can either rectify their status or leave the country without being fined and getting blacklisted.

Meanwhile the official sources clarified that the fine related to residency violation is only exempted for amnesty and the expatriate must pay any other fines such as traffic violation fine, telephone bill due etc if applicable before leaving the country.

The Ministry also clarified that residency violators can directly go to the airport with a valid ticket and travel document, provided that there is no travel ban on them.
