A Panel Will Examine Easing The Restrictions

13 February 2022 Kuwait

Kuwait's Ministry of Health has submitted a set of recommendations to the ministerial committee for COVID-19 emergencies for easing restrictions in light of the abating omicron wave and the decline in COVID-19 cases in recent days, Al-Qabas reports. The government has indicated that the committee will examine these recommendations ahead of the Cabinet's meeting. They have highlighted that the return to normal life will take some time, so restrictions will be eased gradually.

In addition to the recommendations presented to the committee, the sources indicated that the resumption of prayers at mosques like they were before the pandemic, the reduction of isolation periods and quarantine measures for those in contact, and the return to work in government agencies would all depend on the study of epidemiological conditions. The use of masks and the resumption of gatherings may depend on the study of the epidemiological situation. As a general rule, it is easier to ease the restrictions regarding the wearing of masks in public places than to allow weddings to resume.

In contrast, a number of different activities are being carried out by the Ministry of Health, including the implementation of booster doses of vaccination, the vaccination of children in an effort to reach total societal immunity, and the monitoring of random swab tests in different governorates to identify the epicenters of the outbreak so that infected individuals and their contacts can be traced immediately.
