3 Women Were Dead In Road Accident In Oman
Three women were killed on Tuesday afternoon when their vehicle collided with a heavy truck on the Mahada-Buraimi road. The driver of the heavy ruck sustained moderate injuries. All the women died on the spot, an official at the Royal Oman Police (ROP), told Gulf News.
The official added that one of the women, an Omani national, was accompanied by two other Egyptian women. The Omani woman lost control of the vehicle and collided with the truck.
They were all teachers at a school at Mahda province The bodies of the deceased are still at Buraimi hospital. Meanwhile, the ROP has mounted banners on Omani roads stating that the number of road accidents had dropped by 30 per cent between 2013 and 2014.
The official pointed out that speed radars and traffic campaigns have contributed to a significant drop in the number of road accidents. Speeding is still the main cause for all road accidents that have occurred in the past three years, according to statistics.
