2 Kuwaitis Held With Illegal Weapons
Two Kuwaitis have been arrested for possessing a number of unlicensed ammunition and a Kalashnikov rifle and four magazines, says a press release issued by the Ministry of Interior. The arrest came after the General Department for Weapons Investigations received information about one of the suspects. Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department armed with a search and arrest warrant raided the suspect’s apartment in Saad Al-Abdullah and seized and AK-49 ammunition. Detectives then raided the home of the man’s relative and seized from him AK-49 rifle and 4 magazines. The two suspects have been referred to competent authorities. The General Department for Weapons Investigations affirmed that it will continue to raid suspicious apartments and called on the citizens and residents to call the emergency phone (112) or hotline (1888830) to file complaints about illegal weapons, to protect the security of the homeland and the safety of citizens.
