About 1.5 Million Expatriates Expected To Leave Kuwait By The End Of This Year
According to estimate, about 160,000 expatriates left Kuwait to their home countries since March 16 until yesterday.
During this period, Kuwait Airport was operating with only 15% of its capacity. According to report, it is expected that about one and half million people will depart Kuwait by the end of this year.
Some private sector institutions have ended the services of large numbers of employees as the corona crisis resulted in substantial financial losses. This, coupled with the government's policy towards achieving Kuwaitization, resulted in the departure of a large number of expatriates from the country.
According to the report, within 116 days, from March 16 to July 9, Kuwait International Airport witnessed the departure of 158,031 Traveling aboard 993 flights. Egyptian and Indian communities made up the large number of expatriates who left the country. This number is expected to double as the airport will open its operation by next month.
