120 People Arrested During Security Campaigns
KUWAIT CITY, June 23: Security campaigns in the industrial areas of Jahra, Sulaibiya, Fudhah and Old Jahra, as well as on Kabad Road and in Jahra stables area. In a press release, General Department of Public Relations and Security Media explained that the campaigns resulted in the arrest of 70 individuals who were in violation of the labor and residency laws, and 50 people who were either reported as absconding or did not have any identification documents, as well as the issuance of 57 traffic citations.
The campaigns were supervised by the Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs Lieutenant General Sheikh Faisal Al-Nawaf and Director of Jahra Security Command Brigadier Abdullah Hamad.
The officers arrested 20 individuals for holding expired residencies, 43 without any identification documents, three for drug-related matters, 58 in violation of the residency law, 12 individuals who were reported as absconding, nine for debt-related cases and two hawkers. They also discovered two cases of illegal sale of diesel.
In addition, they impounded nine vehicles, issued 57 traffic citations, and dealt with inquiries from 587 people. The department affirmed that such security campaigns will continue in all governorates in order to maintain security. It called upon the public not to shelter or hide anyone who is in violation of the law in order to avoid being held legally accountable, adding that everyone should carry their personal identification documents at all times.
