Workers' Leaves Are Bought By Ministries

The Al-Anba daily cites informed sources as reporting that a number of state ministries have begun purchasing leave balances from former employees. In preparation for the completion of the cash allowance for the period sold, the period of leave balance that the employees requested to sell had already been deducted from the total balance of their leave days.

Employees were allowed to sell their leave days in accordance with their request, without a limit on the number of days they could sell, as long as they maintained at least 30 days in their leave balance. Through the integrated civil service system, the employee's balance was deducted for the period sold. In coordination with the Ministry of Finance, the amount of cash to be disbursed to each ministry will be determined.
