Unidentified Kuwaiti Arrested For Causing Chaos In Front Of The Egyptian Consulate And Threatening To Blow Himself Up
The Kuwaiti security authorities have taken into custody an unidentified Kuwaiti for causing chaos in front of the Egyptian consulate and threatening to blow himself up, reports Al-Rai daily.
The man, who was armed only with a knife, has been referred to the concerned authorities (State Security) to know the motives of his action. He was not carrying any identification papers but was later identified as a Kuwaiti.
The Egyptian ambassador to Kuwait said he contacted the Deputy Foreign Minister for Protocol Affairs, Ambassador Dhari Al-Ajran and stressed on the need of taking the necessary action on the incident and provide adequate protection to the consulate.
The security forces acting on information rushed to the consulate and took into custody the suspect, born in 1997, who tried to enter the consulate to complete a transaction and when he was not allowed to enter he created a scene in front of the consulate.
He has been referred to the State Security. However, according to a diplomatic source the suspect had no transaction but came to the consulate and attempted to enter, and when he was denied permission, he challenged the security guard and pulled out a knife in a vain attempt to stab him.
