Construction Of Deep Tunnel At Last Phase Of Review: Karam

Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Manpower Abdullah Al-Mutawtah has revealed that three construction sites violated administrative decision number 535/2015, which prohibits working under the direct heat of the sun from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm during summer, reports Al-Qabas daily.

According to Al-Mutawtah, the authority inspected 723 open work areas with 737 workers from June 1 to Aug 17. In a related development, the Inspection Department at the authority has intensified the inspection campaigns to ensure strict compliance with the directive; warning that the concerned department will take the necessary legal measures against any employer proven to have violated the decree.

Meanwhile, Director of Sewage Engineering at the Ministry of Public Works Engineer Mahmoud Karam has said the construction of deep tunnel is at the last phase of review, and offer for design consultancy will be needed soon, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Engineer Karam added the project will be useful in improving the sewage line and drainage system to eliminate problems associated with blockade, operation and maintenance to guarantee free flow of water, and prevent overflowing or blockage in the network.

The project if completed will enhance accommodation of extra load caused by the growing population and extension of residential areas at the moment and in future. Meanwhile, Al-Nahar newspaper reported the Ministry of Electricity and Water is preparing to install surveillance camera through the Internet for its monitoring system. The companies authorized and registered by Central System for Information Technology will be carrying out the project at the saline water well of the ministry in Wafra and water reservoir in Sulaibiya.

A source noted the monitoring system to be installed in the course of the year will enable the ministry to check all its wells within the area around the clock to stop thefts that happen there every now and then. He reiterated the technology will be of advanced precision, because the ministry wants to guarantee safety of all its facilities.
