The Transfer Decision Does Not Apply To Scholarship Students

In a decision issued by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled excluded scholarship and academically licensed Ministry members from transportation and restricted the transfer of officers from lieutenant to major to field work.

As a result of Resolution No. 1194 of 2023, certain provisions of Resolution No. 20-2021 were amended to regulate the transfer of police members, which included a final paragraph that stated, “Those on scholarship and those who are academically licensed are exempt from all of the above.”

Al-Seyassah obtained a copy of the decision, which stated: “Article No. 4 of the aforementioned Ministerial Resolution No. 30-2021 shall be amended in such a way that Clause No. According to Article 3 of this decision, officers from lieutenant to major will be transferred to field work only, not administrative work; specialized officers, scholarship students, and academic license holders are not permitted to participate.

Added to Article 3 of the decision is a paragraph that states: "Scholarship students and those on academic leave are excluded from this."

A new article, number 7 bis, is added to Article Four: "The provisions of this decision do not prejudice the authority of the Undersecretary to transfer members of the police force on scholarship and study leave without adhering to the dates specified in this decision."
