The Ministry Of Health Reviews The Latest Developments In The Epidemiological Situation In Kuwait

The Ministry of Health held a press conference to present the latest developments in the epidemiological situation inside Kuwait, and the impact and reflection of monitoring the “mutated delta” of the Corona virus on the health situation in the country.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Mustafa Reda, said that the ministry worked to provide vaccines, as the number of vaccinated yesterday reached 43,000 cases for the first time in Kuwait, a transparency approach in announcing injuries and deaths.

e expressed his thanks to all medical staff in light of their efforts to confront the Corona virus pandemic.

He added that the efforts of the Ministry of Health, since the start of the outbreak of the Corona pandemic, have led to reducing the death rate from the virus to less than 1%, and confronting the variables and variables.

He pointed out that the Ministry of Health’s vaccination plan was based on global recommendations, adding that global studies confirmed its safety for groups between 12 and 15 years old, so the Ministry will start vaccinating this age group in August, in confirmation of what Al-Qabas published earlier.

He pointed out that Kuwait has adopted multiple sources of vaccinations, adding that the ministry will soon provide two globally approved vaccines, namely Johnson & Johnson and Moderna.

Buthaina Al-Mudhaf, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Affairs, said that the number of cases admitted to intensive care increased during the past days due to complications from the Corona virus, adding that cases of infections rose after their stability in May.

She added that the Ministry of Health is studying the new mutants, and has detected infections with the delta and alpha mutants, calling on citizens to abide by health requirements, and to initiate vaccination, until we reach community immunity.

he stressed that the stability of the epidemiological situation is conditional on adherence to health requirements, adding that the Ministry of Health will not hesitate to raise any recommendation related to public health.

Dr. Khaled Al-Saeed, a member of the Covid 19 Vaccines Committee, said that the negligence in health precautions, gatherings and events led to an increase in the number of cases, in addition to the reluctance to receive the anti-Coronavirus vaccine, and the monitoring of the fast-spreading mutant in Kuwait, stressing that the virus is currently rapidly spreading and we call on everyone to speed up take the vaccine

He added that 90% of the number of patients in Covid wards are unvaccinated, while the percentage of patients in intensive care wards without the vaccine reached 89%, and the death rate from Corona without the vaccine reached 99.1%. 

He pointed out that the treatment protocol followed is the same for all strains of corona, even the mutated ones, adding that the vaccines that have been approved in Kuwait can combat the new mutant, according to international studies.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Health announced the monitoring of infections with the “mutated delta” of the Corona virus, after the results of the genetic planning appeared, explaining that it was conducting genetic tests for the virus, periodically, to find out the type of patterns of mutations prevalent in Kuwait.

The conference will be attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Mustafa Reda, the Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Affairs, Dr. Buthaina Al-Mudhaf, a member of the Corona Vaccines Committee, Dr. Khaled Al-Saeed, and the official spokesman for the Ministry, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad.
