24 February 2024 Kuwait

Environmental law enforcement officers, in partnership with the Ministry of Commerce, have intensified efforts to curb the sale of water balloons and water guns, items prohibited for sale and usage during national festivities.

The joint operation resulted in the confiscation of significant quantities of banned balloons and water pistols from a retailer in Abdali, totaling approximately one thousand cartons. Seized items were confiscated, financial violation reports were issued, legal measures were initiated against store personnel, the establishment was sealed, and operations were suspended.

These measures align with the directives of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Acting Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef. Any expatriate involved in the sale of such prohibited materials will face deportation.
