The Kuwaiti Addiction Problem Is Seen To Be Failing Young
For decades, Kuwait has waged a fierce war against drugs, hallucinogenic pills, and forbidden stimulants, which have seen a worrying spread in society, exacerbated by its association with horrific murders and violent affairs, in light of frequent reports that Kuwait and other Gulf countries were targetted by an organized campaign, transforming Kuwait from a smuggling post into a nation. The drugs pushers continue to flourish in their destructive trade inside the country, at a time when the concerned authorities work 24/7 to get the youth out of this vicious cycle, rehabilitate and integrate them into society as productive elements. Unfortunately the facilities are few and there is only one specialized hospital for the treatment of addiction, which is under pressure at all times due to shortage of medical staff.
Kuwait's youths and adolescents face very harsh conditions, many of which drive them towards addictions due to parent's preoccupation with their upbringing, lack of religious and moral convictions, and the lack of awareness expected of the ministries of Education, Endowments, Interior, and Information. The country’s lack of a suitable recrYoung people are pushed into the sea of abuse and violent crimes in the country because of the lack of a suitable recreational and tourist environment for fun and spending time with friends.
