The Demolition And Restoration Of Sites Are Regulated By Regulations
In a recent statement, Al-Humaidi Al-Mutairi, the Director of the Safety Department in Hawally Municipality, emphasized the importance of awareness regarding the municipality's requirements and regulations for demolition and restoration activities. Al-Mutairi highlighted that understanding these guidelines is crucial in minimizing violations during such processes.
During the third field tour organized by the Safety Department, Al-Mutairi outlined the necessary licenses for demolition and restoration projects, including approvals from the Engineering Audit and Follow-up Department, the Safety Department, and obtaining permits for site preparation. These measures aim to ensure the safety of passersby and prevent damage to surrounding areas.
The department recently monitored a demolition project in Bayan, emphasizing the need for water sources to control dirt and dust during the process. Following the demolition, strict safety protocols are implemented, such as preventing sorting of debris on-site, timely removal of materials, and thorough site cleaning.
After completion, the owner or responsible company must request a safety certificate from the Safety Department, which involves an inspection to verify the site's cleanliness. Al-Mutairi highlighted that the department's field tours are a daily occurrence, facilitating efficient monitoring of work progress and immediate intervention if issues arise.
For violations related to demolition conditions, citations are issued directly without warnings due to the sensitive nature of safety concerns. In cases involving construction debris or other violations, a warning precedes the issuance of a citation, providing an opportunity for corrective action.
Hawally Municipality initiated its first campaign to ensure safety requirements in construction and restoration operations, including the proper disposal of waste construction materials. The inspection tours, conducted by the Safety Department, have resulted in warnings and reports against violators, demonstrating the municipality's commitment to maintaining safety standards.
