Summer Allowances Paid Only To The Administration Staff, Not Teaching Staff - Kufa
The Kuwait University Faculty Association (KUFA) lamented that the university administration paid summer semester allowances for administration staff but deprived faculty members from receiving these allowances despite the efforts they exerted and the additional burdens they incurred during the summer semester, reports Al Rai daily.
The association has requested Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Hamid Al-Azmi to intervene in this matter, stop wasting the university budget and refer the defaulting party to the disciplinary council.
Head of KUFA Dr Ibrahim Al-Hamoud said the university administration seems to have little experience in managing administrative and financial affairs, which is evident from the current unacceptable and unprofessional level.
He stressed that the administration is moving from a pit to a hole and to an abyss, as administrative and financial confusion is ongoing in the university, which is supposed to be a model in its operations especially considering the recurrent stereotypes related to financial rights and times of disbursement to those who deserve them.
Al-Hamoud indicated that there are a number of faculty members who were not paid their financial dues related to the summer semester even though they completed their work and their duties and handed in the grades and are now on summer vacation.
He revealed that the excuse given by administration for not paying the financial dues is allegedly because the university does not have the necessary financial support in the budget even though the fiscal year is in its infancy as it just began.
Head of Kuwait Charitable Society for Elderly Care and Rehabilitation, Board Chairman of Ibrahim Taher Al-Baghli Ideal Son Charitable Foundation, ambassador of good intentions, and Honorary Chairman of Arab Achiever Institution in Cairo, Egypt Ibrahim Taher Al-Baghli says the objective behind granting the Ideal Son Award is to encourage children to be obedient to their parents and to raise awareness about the needs of the elderly as well as to attract media attention to the issue, reports Al-Nahar daily.
During his interview in Arab Today TV channel, Al-Baghli revealed that the award for Ideal Son was first launched in 2007 in coordination with a number of official bodies and civil organizations.
