Some Visit Co-ops Just To Be Out During Curfew
The ministries of Social Affairs and Commerce have implemented a new mechanism for shopping in cooperative societies, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting sources. Sources disclosed the above mentioned ministries took this step after noticing that some individuals booked appointments to shop during the curfew period without making any purchase as they merely took advantage of the booking to go out of their homes.
Sources said the government agencies set 48 hours before anyone could get a new appointment after the last automated reservation on the cooperative societies appointment platform in the website of the Ministry of Commerce. The Ministry of Commerce called on the public to book their appointments carefully as cancellation is possible only two hours before the appointed time. In addition, the daily found that if a person does not honor the appointment to shop in cooperative societies, he will not be able to book again unless the ban on his civil ID is lifted.
Sources went on to say that since the blessed month of Ramadan is fast approaching, there has been a remarkable increase in the number of shoppers; so the cooperative societies do not allow shoppers to enter 10 minutes before the time they booked. Sources revealed some co-operative societies are witnessing crowds; hence, the need for stricter implementation of health regulations, particularly social distancing.
