Shopping Center Shut Down For Violating School Goods Sale Rules

06 September 2023 Crime News

A shopping center has been closed down by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The closure follows reports of the center selling school goods in contravention of ministerial decisions, reported Al-Rai Daily.

According to the Ministry of Commerce, this action follows directives from the Minister of Commerce and Industry and the Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Muhammad Al-Aiban. The Ministry has significantly ramped up its field visits to various establishments including shops, parallel markets, libraries, and cooperative societies across different governorates. These visits serve to monitor and prevent artificial price hikes and price manipulation.

During back-to-school season, these inspections aim to ensure that outlets specializing in stationery and school supplies strictly adhere to the Ministry's regulatory decisions.
