Security Tightened At All Border Points To Check Shady Persons, Illegal Items
All security authorities at the borders, especially in Abdally, have been instructed to toughen procedures, take the utmost level of precaution and inspect all equipment entering the country, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting security sources.
Sources revealed that strict inspection procedures entail thorough checking of passengers and using the most advanced devices in a bid to protect the country from the infiltration of suspicious individuals or smuggling of illegal items.
Sources said the directives were issued according to information that the State Security received recently from foreign intelligence entities as part of the intelligence cooperation and exchange of information agreement between Kuwait and neighboring countries. Sources explained the highest alert level has been in place due to the recent acts of Iraq which might have serious impact on Kuwait.
Sources affirmed the Abdally borders have so far not witnessed any attempt to smuggle illegal equipment, attributing this to the commitment of security authorities to take precautionary measures under such circumstances
