According to the Criminal Court, two Saudi defendants were sentenced to seven years in prison for falsely claiming to be a Kuwaiti individual who disappeared in 1995.

Forging Kuwaiti nationality and civil identification are among the charges. During the court proceedings, the judge questioned the first defendant about the whereabouts of the original person they impersonated, who had been missing since 1995. In response, the first defendant audaciously claimed, “I am the original person.” The judge pressed further, asking where the individual had been hiding, to which the response was, “I was a traveler between countries.”

Similarly, the second accused was questioned about where the original person was located. It was the second accused who boldly asserted, "I am this person, and I was living outside Kuwait."
