Saudi Crane Crash - 11 Pakistanis, 9 Indians, 2 Britons Confirmed Dead
The Pakistani Consulate has confirmed the deaths of 11 of its nationals in the crane crash on Friday.
The Indian Haj mission, led by Consul General B.S. Mubarak, released a list of nine deaths. This is in addition to the two women who were reported dead on Saturday.
This takes the total number of Indian casualties to 11.
Two British pilgrims were also among the dead. “We have confirmation of two British nationals who died as a result of the crane crash," Rashid Mogradia, CEO of the Council of British Hajjis (CBHUK) .Â
All 7,200 Filipino pilgrims in Makkah are safe, according to Philippine Consul General in Jeddah Imelda Panolong. A total of 7,500 pilgrims from the Philippines will perform Haj this year.
In a statement to a Philippine radio station, Panolong said that there are no reports of Filipino casualties in the crane crash at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.
