'sabah Employment Examination Center' Overcrowded, Say Sponsors

27 March 2022 Kuwait

Although the Ministry of Health organizes the tests electronically, there is severe overcrowding at the Employment Examination Center in the Al-Sabah Health District. The overcrowding is due to the fact that each worker is examined for hours, while sponsors wait impatiently for their turn.

The visitors to a local Arabic newspaper that visited the center that serves the capital and Hawally governorates saw the crowds as soon as the center opened for service, and learned from them that the crowds are due to inadequate organizational methods.

Visitors who chose not to disclose their names said he has an appointment to have his domestic worker examined, however, there aren't enough workers to deal with the increasing demand, even though there are hundreds of workers waiting for medical examinations.

Another visitor questioned how the Kuwaiti Embassy could document the worker's visa to enter Kuwait if they did not check her safety before she entered Kuwait and was not examined in her country of origin? “Who is responsible if she is sick?”,”,sick?”,”,sick?”,”, he said.

Another visitor commented that he entered the center at 9 am and left at 12.30 pm, which was unreasonable given that he had an appointment.

The results appear after two weeks, which creates a great danger to the family, if the infected person has infectious disease. Another problem is that the results are given after two weeks so the society is at risk from infectious diseases, especially because "we will be allowing domestic workers in shortly."
