Roadmap Set, Schools Reopening For Business
The Ministry of Education has issued guidelines for the school administrations, to serve as a road map to confront the (Covid 19) virus including many organizational procedures that must be implemented at the beginning of the current 2021- 2022 school year.
The roadmap includes teams from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health and a preventive health liaison officer whose main task is to monitor the epidemiological situation inside schools on a daily basis. The guidelines, a copy of which has been obtained by the daily, stresses on the need for the schools to provide the Ministry of Education operations room the location of the school, equipment, logistical support, and school plans (sketch), and for the Ministry of Health to train members of the joint operating rooms, and the operating room will supervise the institutes that fall within its control including religious and special needs education schools. The guidelines indicate the closure of school canteens with the possibility of allowing e-canteens (automated vending machines), and not using water coolers, and it is preferable to bring a bottle of water from home.
The guidelines explains the scheduled class time for all the three educational stages is 60 minutes, and the teacher must plan it well, and manage it in an attractive and interesting manner for students and that the most important contributing factor is dividing the class into two parts between skills and activities, where proper distribution of knowledge and skills is required.
Meanwhile , the Ministry of Health is waiting for the delivery of seasonal influenza and pneumococcal vaccines, in preparation for the vaccination campaign against these diseases in October, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting sources. Sources hinted that these vaccines will arrive within the next two weeks at the latest. Sources told the daily that the ministry is planning to allocate some coronavirus vaccination centers for seasonal influenza and pneumonia vaccination in order to prevent crowding or long queues. Sources expect a high turnout of citizens and expatriates in this year’s influenza vaccination campaign, similar to what happened last year. Sources confirmed that the ministry ordered appropriate quantities of influenza and pneumonia vaccines to accommodate all those wishing to get vaccinated.
Sources added this annual vaccination campaign targets the causes of the most common infectious winter respiratory diseases; such as infection with influenza virus, specifically influenza (A(H1N1+ H3N2), influenza B and other common pneumococcal bacteria. In another development , the Social Welfare Sector of the Department for the Elderly in the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor has prepared a special program to organize training and rehabilitation courses for those working in the home mobile service teams for the care of the elderly as the department awaits the continuation of the service through a decision issued by the Council of Ministers, reports Al-Anba daily. The source stated that this service was suspended when the Covid-19 pandemic broke out. The source emphasized this will be done in cooperation with cooperative societies which will support the efforts of the mobile teams in the service of the elderly, each in its respective area.
