Return To Normal By July
Despite the recent spike in the number of deaths and infections with coronavirus in the country, a government official said things will start to return to normal in July, reports Al-Qabas daily. The official revealed that the country has been assured it will receive large quantities of approved vaccines, which means the companies producing anticorona vaccines will further increase supplies of their vaccines to accelerate the pace of vaccination and achieve community immunity soon. He said that vaccine supplies will be better at the end of the second quarter of this year; while the implementation of health regulations including social distancing and wearing masks will continue until the end of 2022.
Regarding the opening of Kuwait International Airport, the official confirmed that the airport will open once the vaccination of citizens is completed as this will protect them from transmission of the virus. This coincides with the recent announcement of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) that a digital travel permit showing results of Covid-19 tests and vaccination certificates will be launched on the Apple platform in mid-April. This digital travel permit, which is currently in the testing phase, was expected to be launched in the end of March.
Stage
Meanwhile, the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for General Education, Osama Al-Sultan, affirmed the ministry’s commitment to implementing all health and preventive measures put in place by the Ministry of Health for conducting the secondary stage exams for Grade 12. In a statement to Al-Seyassah, Al-Sultan said the school districts are working on a model for the examination committees in which all the health requirements set by the Ministry of Health are applied, whether social distancing or entering and exiting the schools in preparation for adopting a model for students’ examination committees to be applied to all schools. The Undersecretary for Public Education inspected Al-Asmaa Bint Al-Harith Secondary School for Girls in the Capital Education Governorate accompanied by the Acting Director-General of the Capital Educational Region, Jassem Bu Hamad, and the Supervisor of Secondary Education, Mutab Al-Otaibi, as part of his inspection tours to check the schools’ preparations for written exams.
During the tour, the Al-Sultan praised the efforts made by secondary schools to prepare for the final written exams for the Grade 12, stressing that the experience of Al-Osama Bint Al-Harith High School is the first experience of performing tests for students during the corona pandemic which is developed as a model to be applied to all schools. For his part, the Superintendent of Secondary Education in the Capital Governorate, Mutaib Al-Otaibi, stated the health procedures and standards that the school administration follows are a model for all schools to perform written exams for Grade 12. Director of the school Khayal Al-Ibrahim said the school administration is keen on forming committees for the Grade 12 exams.
