Residency Violation Crackdown: 500 Expatriates Arrested In 3-Week Blitz
In a concerted effort involving the General Administration of Residence Affairs Investigations, the Department of Control and Coordination, the Department of Violators Follow-up, and the Joint Tripartite Committee, extensive morning and evening inspection campaigns were carried out in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Farwaniya, and Fahaheel. The operations, conducted the day before yesterday, resulted in the apprehension of 120 individuals from diverse nationalities, all found in violation of Residency and Labor Laws.
Among the targeted inspections, authorities exposed a clandestine operation masquerading as a domestic servants' agency, housing three violators operating as daily laborers. The arrested individuals have been handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation and legal proceedings.
This recent sweep is part of an ongoing series of security campaigns designed to curb residency violations in the country. An informed source reports that, since the beginning of January, the Ministry of Interior has successfully apprehended over 390 residency violators, bringing the total number of expatriates arrested to more than 500 within the span of three weeks.
