Remains Of Martyr Al-qarni Handed Over To Saudi Arabia

The Ministry of Interior said the remains of the Saudi citizen martyr Captain Abdullah Salem Salim Al-Qarni who was taken prisoner during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990, and exhumed from Iraq have been handed over to the Saudi ahthorities.

The Al-Qabas daily quoting Interior Ministry officials stated the remains of the were handed over last Wednesday. The handing over ceremony was done in coordination with the regional delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, after genetic identification carried out by the Directorate-General Criminal Evidences after the remains were found in Iraq – the process was part of the databases of families of prisoners and missing persons kept in the Criminal Court.
