Rajeeve, Shibin Crowned Champions In Advance Category
The Victor Badminton Academy (VBA) recently organized the Second Victor Intraclub tournament at the Al-Sahel Sports Club in Abu Halifa.
Taking part in the tournament were over 50 players who regularly practice at the VBA grounds. The entire tournament was organized and conducted by the students of the academy Nikitha Lillian Rebello, Ryan John Mancha, Abhiram Sanal Kumar and Vaibhav Sreejith ably supported by all the participants.
The tournament was held in 2 different categories Advanced and Intermediate. Players in both categories played in the round robin format at the league stage (3 games of 15 points) followed by knockout in the quarter-final, semifinal and final stages (3 games of 21 points).
Rajeeve & Shibin were winners of the advance category who remained unbeaten throughout the tournament. In the final they defeated Kiran and Mathan in straight games with a score 21-16, 21-17. In the semifinals also both the finalists won in straight games over their respective opponents.
In the intermediate group Lins & Joji defeated Lindo and Shankar. The final was a tight affair and eventually Lins and Joji emerged winners with a score line of 21-16, 21-12. This was a sweet revenge as Lindo and Shankar had defeated Lins and Joji in the league stages.
The VBA believes in the overall development of the child and they exceeded everyone’s expectation by their dedication. The prizes were given by Rajeeve K. M., Sreejith, Wilson Rebello and Rajesh Panickar.
The success of any coaching organization happens to be the wholehearted support of the parents. The VBA is fortunate to have an excellent support system with very involved and proactive parents. The VBA thanks the parents and all members for their commitment which has made a huge difference to the academy.
The VBA, thanks its title sponsor for the event Al Hidaya and Chef Noushad’s signature Restaurant Fahaheel Branch for its sponsorship and commitment to develop badminton in Kuwait.
Victor Badminton Academy, which started its operations in October 2017, has become one of the prominent badminton centers in Kuwait within this short span; for details about ongoing courses for children and adults contact 60905315.
