Proactive Measures Continue To Prevent The Entry Of Omicron
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on citizens to abide by what was stated in the cabinet decision on November 27 regarding procedures and controls related to the emergence of a new mutant of the Corona virus.
The ministry called on citizens, in a statement, to avoid travel unless necessary, in order to preserve their safety and to avoid the rapid and changing measures taken by countries to face the repercussions of the emergence of the new mutant “Omicron”.
On the other hand, and for the fourth consecutive day, the country’s health services continued monitoring and follow-up work on epidemiological developments in the regional and international environments, and proactive measures continued to prevent the entry of the mutated “Omicron” into Kuwait.
An official source at the Ministry of Health informed that the epidemiological situation in Kuwait continued to record a noticeable improvement until the end of November, noting that there is currently no need to reopen the wards and intensive care units designated for Covid-19 patients again during the current period, especially with the low rates of clinical occupancy. In the wings and the number reached zero in the care for 7 consecutive days.
The source added: The medical and nursing staff in hospitals and health facilities have now had experience in dealing with the virus and its new variants, especially with the continuation of their work for nearly two years in dealing with the pandemic and its repercussions, noting that the decrease in clinical occupancy rates is due to adherence to the directives of the health authorities and the demand for Vaccinations, as well as raising community awareness compared to the first period of the Corona crisis.
And he indicated that the total cases in the Covid 19 wards in hospitals recently decreased significantly, reaching 5 patients only the day before yesterday, after it was 182 cases in late August, pointing out that reopening any wards for “Corona” requires an increase in rates. Admission to hospitals due to the disease and its repercussions, indicating that the daily rate of infections recorded in the governorates is also currently low, in addition to the empty care rooms of patients.
