Prices Of Some Essential Commodities Increased By 25 Percent

The prices of some essential commodities such as milk, eggs, vegetables, meat, fish and seafood has skyrocketed by up to 25 percent, due to lack of any real monitoring for curbing such price hikes, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting informed sources. They explained that the prices of meat and poultry have increased by 15 percent.

The prices of some other foodstuffs have been increased by 14 percent. Sugar and related products now cost seven percent more. The sources revealed that the price increase is not only limited to foodstuffs but also household goods and furniture, indicating that the costs of carpets, furniture and the like have increased by 12 percent and utensils by 15 percent.
