Preserving Kuwaiti National Identity: Statement By National Identity Defence Group
The National Identity Defence Group has released a pivotal statement signed by hundreds of citizens, set to be presented to His Highness’s diwan along with the signatories’ names. This statement, bolstered by the recent speech from His Highness the Amir advocating for the preservation of national identity, underscores the urgent need for action.
Expressing unwavering support for His Highness the Amir's paternal directives, the signatories emphasize the crucial role of implementing measures to safeguard Kuwait's national identity. They commend the tireless efforts of the government and the Minister of Interior in addressing issues of tampering with nationality, highlighting the necessity of strict decisions to combat forgery, duplication, and manipulation that have adversely impacted Kuwaiti nationalities.
The group's statement, titled “The upcoming elections are a response to the awakening of a state and to confront fraud,” directly addresses the call for parliamentary elections following His Highness the Amir's significant speech on December 20, 2023. His Highness's speech underscored the gravity of recent actions detrimental to Kuwait's interests and people, necessitating immediate corrective actions, including suspending appointment and promotion decisions.
In light of the ongoing challenges, the group applauds the Kuwaiti people's positive response and active engagement in rectifying the path of national identity. However, they raise concerns about parliamentary interference hindering efforts to combat forgery, highlighting instances where representatives have shielded forgers and thwarted prosecution attempts.
Efforts to address forgery have led to some confusion, particularly regarding the fate of affected families. Despite this, the group affirms Kuwait's commitment to justice and humanity, ensuring that those rectifying their status will continue to live with dignity. They emphasize the importance of rectifying erroneous conditions across various sectors, from academic certificates to housing files, to ensure fairness and integrity.
Furthermore, the group condemns attempts to distort facts and evade accountability, commending the Minister of Interior's active efforts in exposing fraudulent activities.
The ongoing corrective measures, under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir, signify a renewed commitment to upholding Kuwait's national identity and ensuring justice for all citizens. The group underscores the importance of following the guidance of the leader to ensure collective safety and prosperity.
