15 September 2021 Kuwait

The Philippine Labor Attachè Nasser S. Mustafa said the Philippine embassy in Kuwait has worked to increase the share of domestic labor recruitment offices to 200 requests per month instead of 120 for each office.

This came during a meeting of the Federation of Domestic Labor Recruitment Offices with the relevant authorities, especially the embassies of the labor-exporting countries.

During the first meeting, which was attended by representatives of dozens of offices besides Mustafa, the attendees presented their demands and solutions to the obstacles they face.

The head of the federation, Khaled Al-Dakhnan, told Al-Qabas that there are some technical issues pending between the Kuwaiti offices and the Philippine embassy most notably issues related to Covid-19, but  regarding the specified salary of 120 dinars per month for domestic worker, he said, there is no problem in this area.

Meanwhile, Al-Dakhnan said the federation is waiting for a response from the Ethiopian Foreign Ministry for an agreement to be signed between Kuwait and Ethiopia to start contracting domestic workers.
