Parliament Speaker Adjourns National Assembly Session To May 14

In an official decree, Parliament Speaker Saleh Ashour has decided to adjourn the ongoing session of the National Assembly until May 14.

Clarifying the decision, Ashour emphasized that the session, convened in accordance with Article 87 of the Constitution, aims to address any constitutional concerns. Article 87 mandates the National Assembly to convene on the first day following the two-week post-election holiday, taking into consideration Articles 97 and 116, alongside Article 68 of the National Assembly’s internal regulations. Consequently, the session will reconvene on Tuesday, May 14.

Earlier in the day, several representatives had convened at the council in anticipation of the session.
