Online Labor Services Will Soon Be Available On The Government Website
Director of Farwaniya Labor Department of the Public Authority for Manpower Yousef Arti declared that the services related to issuance of work permits and residency transfers from one sponsor to another will soon be available on the government website.
He indicated that this project is aimed to bring an end to the congestion experienced in the labor departments, so that people can carry out their transactions without visiting the labor department. Arti affirmed that legal actions will be taken against those who attempt to obtain work permits via illegal transactions, indicating that these legal actions will be taken with the cooperation of Ministry of Interior represented by the General Department for Immigration Investigations.
He stressed that establishing Residency Affairs Investigations offices inside the labor departments is aimed to deter representatives (mandoubs) or visa traders from carrying out any illegal transactions. Arti indicated that a hall has been allocated for mandoubs and another for employers in order to facilitate the completion of transactions.
He affirmed the keenness of the department to confront visa trading and bring an end to the phenomenon of fake companies as well as ensure the upholding of the rights of expatriates especially after the amendment of some articles of the law No. 6/2010 concerning organizing the private sector. Arti revealed that strict penalties have been included in the amended law such as high fees and jail terms
There is a remarkable hike in national labor recruitment in the private sector, including major and new institutions, said Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Al-Sabeeh. Al-Sabeeh, who doubles as Minister of State for Economic Affairs, made the remark to reporters on the sidelines of a two-day national conference on institutional education, organized by the Manpower and Government Restructuring Program (MGRP).
She even hoped that the percentage of national labor recruitment in the private sector would further increase, expecting young people to hold high-level posts in private institutions. On the government’s mechanisms for boosting local labor recruitment, the minister unfolded that a fresh decree would see the light in six months’ time in this regard.
