No Tolerance For Violating Regulations
Director of Mubarak Al-Kabeer Municipality Falah Al-Shammari disclosed that the municipality has referred six engineering offices and six contractors to concerned offices for necessary legal action for violating regulations.
Al-Shammari said the sector is set to review all building authorizations within the governorate on March 1, in addition to verification of real property that were granted authorization.
He said the officials discovered that several under construction buildings had violated regulations, which led to the demolition of several buildings — especially those violating the number of permitted floors. He stressed the municipality will take necessary legal measures against four of twelve buildings next month.
He affirmed that relevant statistics containing a list of violating buildings within the governorate has been forwarded to the higher authority. He cited buildings that violated the permitted number of floors and basements, as well as encroachments on government property. He reiterated the municipality will contact concerned ministries on complaints received and give details about related violations to the Department of Legal Affairs.
