New-born Birth Certificate, Passport, Residency and Civil ID Applying Process in Kuwait
BIRTH CERTIFICATE PROCESS IN KUWAIT
After a baby is born its necessary to have Birth certificate. As it is required as an important document in further formation of UID’s, school admission, passport, new-born residency, Civil ID etc.
Birth Certificate
Baby Delivered at Government Hospital
1) At the time of discharge, they will ask you to come and collect a pink slip after 3 days.
2) When you go to a hospital collect a pink slip, it’s mandatory to carry the following documents:
a. Name of the baby printed on white paper in Arabic as well as in English
b. Copies of Civil IDs of both mother and father, it is advisable to carry originals in case if they want to verify.
c. Marriage certificate copy (Original to be produced); need to ensure the marriage certificate is attested by Kuwait Embassy in India and stamp affixed (5 KD) by Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kuwait.
d. Arabic translation of the marriage certificate is also required.
3) Once you submit the above documents, they will give you a form where you need to fill in all the details like Father Name, Mother Name, Civil id No’s, and baby name in Arabic. You need to fill the form with the help of someone who knows Arabic and make sure the baby's name is written properly by checking with the paper you brought. After submitting the form, they will give you a pink slip.
4) After 15 days you need to visit the hospital birth certificate department to collect the birth certificate. Make sure to check and verify all the details when you get the birth certificate
5) Visit Ministry of Foreign Affairs and get it stamped (5 KD) , you need to get appointment of Ministry of foreign affairs before visiting there
Baby Delivered at Private Hospital
1). If the baby is delivered at a Private hospital Collect the temporary birth certificate issued by the hospital (pink sheet in Arabic)
2). After three working days, go to “Birth Registration Office” according to your Civil ID location, with the following documents:
a. Pink sheet issued by hospital
b. Name of the baby printed on a white paper in Arabic & English
c. Copies of Civil IDs both mother and father, please carry originals also in case if they want to verify
d. Original Marriage Certificate and copy ensure the marriage certificate is attested by Kuwait Embassy in your country and stamp affixed (5 KD) by Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kuwait.
e. Arabic translation of the marriage certificate.
3). Sign a document at the same office and collect the pink slip back.
4). A week later, visit the same office, produce the following:
a. Pink sheet issued by hospital
b. Civil ID copies of parents (Originals to be produced)
c. Marriage certificate copy (Original to be produced); ensure the marriage certificate is attested by Kuwait Embassy in India and stamp affixed (5 KD) by Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kuwait.
5). Collect the Original Birth Certificate
6). Visit the Birth Registration Central Archives Office (Maidan Hawally) and have the chief signed the birth certificate (In rare cases, it may not require.)
7).Visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and get your Birth certificate stamped (5 KD)
Getting an appointment for the Ministry of Foreign affairs may take more than 15 days during Covid times
The Birth Certificate Process is completed.
NEW PASSPORT APPLICATION PROCESS IN KUWAIT
PASSPORT APPLICATION: The passport application process depends on which country you belong to.
Let's discuss the procedure for India:
1).Visit any typing centre.
2).They will prepare the new passport application.
3).They will register online for Indian Citizenship.
4).Translate Arabic Birth Certificate to English in a typing centre
5).Carry baby passport size photos with white background
(One photograph to be affixed on the application form and carry an additional one (photograph can be taken on mobile; baby should be in a colour dress and both the ears to be seen in the picture. The soft copy can be edited to make passport size picture, by any of the studios)
6). At the typing centre they will tell you where to take the thumb impression of the baby and where mother and father signs are needed, a mother can sign at home, but the father needs to sign in front of the passport officer

8). Approach the passport application collection centre with the following documents
a. English translation of the birth certificate
b. Copy of the original birth certificate (Arabic)
c. Father’s passport copy
d. Father’s civil ID copy
e. Mother’s passport copy
f. Mother’s civil ID copy
g. One photograph to be affixed on the application form and carry an additional one (photograph can be taken on mobile; baby should be in a colour dress and both the ears to be seen in the picture. The soft copy can be edited to make passport size picture, by any of the studios)
9). Once the document is ready, submit it to the passport application collection centre.
Following important points to be noted:
a. A Original application form – baby’s left-hand thumb impression & father’s signature required.
b. English translation of the birth certificate – both parents have to sign
c. Copy of the original birth certificate (Arabic) – both parents have to sign
d. Father’s passport copy – Self-attested
e. Father’s civil ID copy – Self-attested
f. Mother’s passport copy – Self-attested
g. Mother’s civil ID copy – Self-attested
h. One photograph to be affixed on the application form and carry an additional one (photograph can be taken on mobile; baby should be in a colour dress and both the ears to be seen in the picture. The soft copy can be edited to make passport size picture, by any of the studios)
i. Request letter, in case, if sir name to be added in the passport
j. Original birth certificate
10). After verifying the document, the passport collection centre will collect the fee of 31.5 KD and provide an acknowledgment which should have a passport collection date.
11). On the collection date, collect the original passport and original birth certificate, along with the original birth certificate issued by the Indian embassy.
New-born Residency Process
1).Visit any typing centre they will prepare New-born residency Application
Documents needed:
a. Passport copy
b. Original Arabic birth certificate copy
c. Parents’ civil Id copies
d. Father’s work permits copy
2). MOI residency affairs appointment

Once an appointment is booked it cannot be cancelled and you can't book a new appointment until the date of the appointment is completed
Print the appointment or save it as an image or pdf on your mobile, you need to show the appointment at the gate and every counter you visit.
Show your appointment and take the token and go straight and wait for your token no, give them the documents he will enter details and sign and stamp and give you back. Please go to the inside room and take token no for the computer section. Once your token number comes give them the documents. They will enter details and write a MOI no on your document. You need this no to pay for health insurance online.
Health insurance
Once you receive the MOI Number you need to wait for half an hour till this MOI Information is sent to MOH, after half an hour you can try to pay your health insurance online

To pay health insurance MOI no is mandatory which will be provided by computer section
Once health insurance is paid, go to the cashier and make the payment for residency
First Kid – 50 KD
Second KID – 100 KD
Third Kid – 200 KD
They accept only cash; once you make the payment they will give you a receipt.
Now go to the section on the right and submit the documents, they process your residency, in case if you have any traffic fines or other fines residency process cannot be done, so please make sure that you don’t have any fines on your name.
They will give you a paper please keep safe; you need this to apply Civil ID
