New Measures Designed To Help Pinpoint Victims Of Human Trafficking - Pam
The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) announced on Saturday new measures to pinpoint human trafficking victims amongst the legions of migrant workers in the country. The measures, part of efforts to identify those most exploited, will be implemented with help from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and financed by the the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development (GSSCPD), head of a special PAM-affiliated housing center for migrant workers Falah Al-Mutairi said in a statement to the press.
Moreover, Al-Mutairi revealed that the measures rely on the Delphi methodology, a survey utilized by the International Labor Organization (ILO) to identify indicators of trafficking in human beings. Furthermore, he noted that the Delphi method would be of great use to PAM personnel to deal with dire cases of human trafficking.
Al-Mutairi also spoke of plans to interview workers about the intricacies of their workplaces, in efforts to detect any potential signs of human trafficking. He also revealed that the center houses mostly female domestic workers, with a capacity to accommodate around 500 people, providing them with rudimentary needs such as food, shelter and medication.
