Mp Holds Pm Responsible For Poor Finance Performance
MPs Al-Humaidi Al-Subai’e, Osama Al Shaheen, Abdulkareem Al-Kandari, Mubarak Al-Hajraf and Badr Al Mullah submitted a bill to amend Law No. 20/1981 in order to establish a special section for administrative disputes at the First Instance Court.
According to the bill, the special section will handle cases filed by Kuwaiti employees registered in the Public Institution for Social Security (PIFSS) and working in the subsidiaries of Kuwait National Petroleum Corporation (KNPC). It stipulates that all such cases currently handled by other courts will be referred to the special section once the bill is enforced. He explained the bill is aimed at providing protection to Kuwaitis working in the oil sector; particularly the cases related to appointment, promotion and dismissal.
Meanwhile, MP Osama Al-Shaheen forwarded queries to Minister of Electricity and Water Khalid Al-Fadel about the number of complaints submitted by employees due to delayed or cancelled allowances since 2017. He asked if the ministry responded to these complaints and what decisions were taken regarding the complaints.
He also inquired if the pollution level in the ongoing construction projects of the ministry like power and desalination plants is safe or not. If not, he wants to know the actual level of pollution and reason why the ministry did not grant pollution allowance to employees assigned in these project sites.
He asked if the concerned court issued a verdict to grant food allowance to employees working in shifts, if the ministry implemented this verdict, if the ministry implemented Civil Service Commission (CSC) Decision No. 12/2012 on granting night shift allowance to these employees, and reasons for non-payment if the decision is not implemented. He wants to know if the ministry suspended the payment of allowance allocated for Kuwaiti engineers, if some engineers are receiving this allowance while others are not, and legal basis for payment and non-payment of the allowance.
He inquired if the ministry formed a committee tasked to specify the difficult jobs, and if the engineering and technical jobs are considered difficult since the engineers and technicians are exposed to electromagnetic rays and other types of hazards.
On the other hand, MP Riyadh Al-Adasani said HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled is responsible for the poor performance of Finance Minister Barrak Al-Shitan, pointing out the latter has no plan to deal with the economic consequences of coronavirus By Saeed Mahmoud Saleh Arab Times Staff
