Mp Has Forwarded Questions To Minister Of Finance On The Appointment Of A Foreigner At Kac
MP Saleh Ashour has forwarded questions to Minister of Finance Nayef Al- Hajraf on the appointment of a foreigner as assistant commercial chief executive officer at Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC). Ashour disclosed that Philip Sander was previously appointed as assistant commercial chief executive officer but he was dismissed following charges of contract manipulation and then he fled from the country.
Now, they intend to hire a German woman for this position and she was invited to Kuwait for this purpose, he added. He wants to know the reasons for taking such a decision, if Kuwaitis were offered the post, their names, qualifications and reasons for not appointing them. He also requested for copies of the contract with the German woman and curriculum vitae detailing her experience in the field of aviation. In another development, Ashour, in his capacity as member of the Kuwaitization and Employment Committee, revealed they will submit a request to the National Assembly to extend the tenure of the committee until May.
He stressed the need to issue legislation on the work of the private sector, determine the required specialties in the labor market and accelerate the recruitment process. He said the committee received many letters regarding Kuwaitization and employment, indicating a plan to give jobs to the unemployed will be submitted to the National Assembly soon. He added the committee is focusing on employment in the public and private sectors based on statistics; pointing out there are more than 300,000 administrative jobs in the private sector, as well as technical jobs in factories and companies.
Meanwhile, the Environment Affairs Committee on Monday decided to set a period of one month for separating the functions of environmental bodies after receiving reports on their accomplishments. In addition, Chairman of the committee MP Mohammed Al-Huwailah said they will invite the concerned bodies like the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) and Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) to a meeting soon to tackle the sewage pools issue in Sabah Al-Ahmad residential area.
